Two years had passed and the lonely creature had been able to survive all by herself. Knowing that she needed no one and no one knew about her existence she felt at ease. Yes, she was very lonely but she was just happy she wouldn’t have to bother anyone with her awful appearance. But one day she heard a new sound through the forest. A dull, repeating sound on the ground. She put her ear to the forest ground to find out what it was and where it was coming from. She had never heard this sound before but she knew it was coming right at her. For the first time in her short life she felt fear. Her heart started racing and so did her mind, she couldn’t figure out what to do. She listened again to hear how much time she had left. Not very long, so she decided to make a run for it. She ran into the shelter of the forest. Deep enough so she would be safe, but still able to watch her little house and what would come out behind the trees soon. The dull thumping sound stopped but she could not see anything yet. And then at last, after a long few minutes, she saw something on the other side. It was a big, majestic creature. One she hadn’t seen before and on top of it was another creature she had never seen before. The two creatures approached her little hut and the thing on top came off the other creature so it could come closer to it. She was absolutely amazed by the new things she saw. One of the creatures looked a bit like her, walking around on two legs. But it wasn’t ugly at all, she rather liked what that creature looked like. The bigger thing slowly walked towards her, sometimes stopping to eat some grass. She couldn’t keep her eyes of it, she wanted to touch it. But then everything would be ruined and she would scare them both off. Instead she kept a safe distance and waited patiently for them to leave.
